This blog is dedicated to all of the resources for Cards, a homebrew template for World of Darkness created by Pamela Punzalan. It’s an adaptation of the Shin Megami Tensei: Persona series for tabletop campaigns using the d10 system of WoD, and has been playtested across four campaigns since 2012.  The Persona games that this homebrew takes most of its ideas from are Persona 3 and Persona 4.

The specific setting that Cards were meant to be used in was for Waking the Dead, but this blog will be providing suggested variants for general use. Furthermore, the homebrew was designed with campaigns of “epic” proportions in mind.

An additional word of caution: familiarity with the World of Darkness Storytelling systems is almost a requirement in order to use the content of this website effectively. I’ve written up some guides for quick reference (especially for character creation), but it’d be best to refer directly to the WoD/CoD rulebooks.

 

Giving Credit Where Credit is Due

In addition to drawing inspiration from the Persona series, I also took a page out of Mahar Mangahas’ book – he’s the guy who originally came up with the idea of a homebrew World of Darkness campaign based off of Persona. Many of the descriptions and abilities listed for the Major Arcana are ones that he created for himself.

 

For the Record…

This homebrew is a labor of love, and I’m not earning a single centavo out of this. As such, I’m posting everything I’ve got here with the simple request that people let me know if they’ll be using the stuff on this blog for their own campaigns, and the hopes that they’ll acknowledge what Mahar and I have done! Feel free to make whatever adjustments you like, but please don’t go around saying you came up with all of this yourself.
